At Broubster (ND 048608) is a horseshoe-shaped stone setting, similar to the one at Achavanich. The site is now badly damaged. Many of the stones have fallen or been removed; only 10 now survive. The original number of stones is unclear although there may have been as many as 36. The monument has a very large diameter, almost 65m across. Like other monuments across Caithness the stone setting lies within a ritual area of chambered tombs, cairns and standing stones.
